The term “single-stage” indicates that the pump has only one impeller, through which the liquid is discharged after undergoing a single stage of centrifugal acceleration; “double-suction” means that the impeller draws liquid from both sides.
Structural Composition
The equipment primarily consists of a pump casing, pump cover, impeller, shaft, double-suction sealing ring, shaft sleeve, bearings, and other components. The pump casing features a horizontal split design, while the impeller is of a double-suction type—essentially two back-to-back impellers combined—and its inlet and outlet are aligned in the same direction, perpendicular to the pump shaft.
Working Principle
When the pump is started, liquid enters the pump casing through two suction inlets and is directed onto the rotating impeller. As the impeller rotates, centrifugal force accelerates the liquid and discharges it outward; the liquid’s kinetic energy is converted into pressure energy within the pump casing and is ultimately discharged from the pump via the outlet pipeline.
